About the event

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, Little Island and the North American Indigenous Center of New York will explore stories and teachings through excerpts from Native American authored books shared from NAIC-NY’s modest library selection. Books will be accompanied with an informative touch tour of traditional objects of the past and present demonstrating the resilience and importance of our living culture of the past, present and future. The North American Indigenous Center of New York (NAIC-NY) is a Native-women-led and centered nonprofit organization committed to Indigenous empowerment through cultural continuance, intersectional equity, and advancement of economic justice for Native nations, communities, and peoples living in and beyond the boundaries of New York City, New York State, and the Northeast.
