NAICNY- Arts & Culture

The North American Indigenous Center of New York (NAICNY) advances Indigenous arts and culture by creating spaces where Native artists, storytellers, musicians, performers, designers, and cultural knowledge keepers can thrive. Through live performances, exhibitions, festivals, artist residencies, workshops, educational programming, and community partnerships, we celebrate the living cultures of Indigenous Nations while amplifying contemporary Native voices. Our work bridges generations, strengthens cultural continuity, and creates meaningful opportunities for Indigenous artists to share their stories with audiences across New York and beyond.

Building the Future of Indigenous Arts

Arts and culture are essential to Indigenous identity, healing, education, and nation building. NAICNY is committed to supporting Native artists at every stage of their creative journey—from youth discovering their voices to established performers presenting work on professional stages. Our programming includes theater productions, music, dance, visual arts, film, fashion, traditional arts, artist development, and public cultural events that connect communities while preserving and advancing Indigenous knowledge systems.

As we grow, NAICNY is building toward mobilizing Indigenous Arts & Cultural Centers— places where creativity, language, history, innovation, and community come together. Through strategic partnerships and collaborative programming, we are creating a lasting home for Indigenous artistic excellence that inspires future generations and ensures Native stories continue to be shared by Native people.
